XAUUSD EA Broker Checklist

An XAUUSD EA can behave differently across brokers because gold contract specifications and trading costs are not identical. Before deployment, check the broker environment instead of relying on the account label alone.

Symbol and contract specification

Confirm the exact gold symbol name, digits, tick size, tick value, contract size, minimum lot, lot step and stop-level rules in MT5.

If the broker uses a suffix such as XAUUSDm or GOLD, confirm that the EA supports it or provides symbol mapping.

Trading cost

Compare typical spread plus commission rather than spread alone. Also review swaps or financing if positions can remain open across rollover.

Very wide or unstable spreads can change entries and exits and may materially alter historical expectations.

Execution and risk

Check leverage, margin requirements, order execution, slippage behaviour and VPS latency. Use a demo account to confirm actual order handling.

No broker setup removes market risk. Automated gold trading can produce rapid gains or losses during volatile conditions.
